Gary Robinov – Filmmaker
Gary Robinov is a filmmaker, based in Portland Maine, from where he continues to explore and grow in his understanding of all aspects of film production and story-telling.
Gary’s personal works include his full length feature documentary, Canvasman: The Robbie Ellis Story, as well as lending his talent to other documentary projects, including Welcome to Lee, Maine and Running with Luci, and Raising Ali. In 2012,.
Robinov partnered with Cinematographer, Dean Merrill to form MEROBI Films – focusing on narrative pieces. Their first film project, Simpatica won best picture in 2013 at the annual Local Muscle Film Festival. Detour, MEROBI Films’ latest creation, produced for the 2013 Damnationland Film Showcase, has been nominated numerous times at various film festivals.
Gary continues to develop and produce both independent and commercial projects. His most recent project Raising Ali: Round 2, his followup to 2012’s Raising Ali is in production now.
